Visitors: A warm welcome is extended to all visiting St
John’s today. Please stay, if you can, for refreshments
and conversation in the hall after the 11.00am service.
Children’s Summer Club meets for activities in the
hall during the 11.00am service. Many thanks to all involved
in organising and supporting this.
Because of the organ refurbishment the Crèche
facilities have been temporarily been recreated at the back
of the church by the door to the hall.
Participation in Communion: Visitors who are accustomed to
receiving communion in other churches are welcome to come
forward for communion at that part of the service. Communion
can also be brought to the pew of those who are unable to
come to the stations. Please advise the stewards if you need
this ministry.
Tickets for the Strawberry Teas on Saturday 2 August in
aid of ‘Let the Children Live!’ are now available
at £3.50. Please see Linda Scott or Raymond Budd (01848
331329) for tickets. There will also be Cake and Candy,
Bric-a-Brac and Plant Stalls. Donations for all these stalls
will be most welcome as well as offers of help for the
day.

Community mini-bus
– A76 corridor: In these days of rising fuel prices,
there is a proposal to arrange for a community minibus, based
in Thornhill, to bring people from that area (and points
along the A76 corridor) to St John’s 11.00 service once
a month. The cost would depend on the number of people
travelling and so it would be helpful if people could
indicate interest by signing up on the sheet at the back of
the church or leaving a message on the church telephone (see
page 2 of the magazine). More information will then be
provided to those registering interest.
